About this deal

He has written 27 novels, 7 sets of short stories, 3 prison diaries, 3 plays (all of which have been performed in London's West End) and a gospel. Owen and the mortician were not surprised by this predictable reaction of a mother at the first sight of her dead son, but they were shocked when she said quietly, “That’s not Sebastian. The story opens in 1957 right where Best Kept Secret left off and answers the question of who survived the car crash involving Sebastian and Bruno. A couple of decent anecdotes do raise the hope of some of this in the middle of the story (particularly around the Sony delegation visit), but that's all that one gets. Emma reaches the morgue to see the sole victim’s body, finding that it belongs to Bruno, Sebastian’s friend.

In the next novel in the series BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR, Archer’s plot revolves around the Barrington family and the machinations of Don Pedro Martinez, an international criminal who blames Harry Clifton for the death of his son, and Alex Fisher who attended boarding school with Giles Barrington and continues to seek revenge against Giles and his family dating back to their days in boarding school and the loss of a recent parliamentary election. or could this be the foundation for book 5 which will be out in year 2015; hence stories seems to be so scattered ? Having been frustrated at having to wait until 2015 to see how this ends I am beginning to see there point. I'm totally hooked on the series and have been listening to it in audio, narrated by Alex Jennings, who is phenomenal. The set up is slow (painfully, painfully slow), and then there’s this moment where lightning strikes, and realisations occur, things start to snowball and before you know it, you’re at the end of the book with another cliffhanger. Jeffrey Archer forces me, and other readers alike, to wait a whole year before we can get the book 5 in the Clifton Chronicles? And as we have seen he ends the book with a cliff hanger so you will have to read Mightier Than the Sword to find out what happens.

It is forbidden to copy anything for publication elsewhere without written permission from the copyright holder.I was thinking this might be where I end the series, but I think I have to know how the cliffhanger turns out, even though I have a pretty good idea already. And with that decision, the story takes yet another twist that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Hardcastle’s first decision is who to support to become the next chairman of the board: Emma Clifton or Major Alex Fisher? Archer knows how to dole out tiny crumbs of suspense right up to the last page, which ends with…a really excellent cliffhanger. I'm so disappointed with this book that it's heartbreaking for me, especially since Jeffrey Archer is one of my favourite authors. The series chronicles the life and times of Harry Clifton, his wife, Emma Barrington, and Emma's brother and Harry's best friend, Giles Barrington. Each character has their own agenda and through a series of complex machinations Archer builds disparate segments of the story which come together in a rather dramatic fashion. The good news is that all seven of the Clifton Chronicles are now published so you won't have to wait for a year to discover how the cliffhanger is resolved. He is the only author ever to have been a number one bestseller in fiction (nineteen times), short stories (four times) and non-fiction (The Prison Diaries).

All the while, Harry and Emma's other child, Jessica, is making a name for herself in the art world and finding love in all the right places. The British intelligence service is continually active in the novel as Sir Alan contemplates assassinating Martinez and is heavily involved in thwarting the Argentinian kingpin who likes to pose as an English gentleman. Be Careful What You Wish For showcases the master storyteller's talent as never before – when the Clifton and Barrington families march forward into the sixties, in this epic tale of love, revenge, ambition and betrayal. Be Careful What You Wish For begins where leaves off barely allowing a moment to breath before getting swept away in the lives of a family that seems to attract the most ruthless villains. A New York Times Bestselling AuthorBe Careful What You Wish For opens with Harry and Emma Clifton rushing to the hospital to learn the fate of their son, who has been involved in a fatal car accident.Join now to access our Study Guides library, which offers chapter-by-chapter summaries and comprehensive analysis on more than 5,000 literary works from novels to nonfiction to poetry. Back in London, Harry and Emma’s adopted daughter wins a scholarship to the Slade Academy of Art where she falls in love with a fellow student, Clive Bingham, who asks her to marry him. The series is supposed to be about the life of one man, Harry Clifton, but Harry takes a backseat in this story. As Marsden drove through unfamiliar towns, Chippenham, Newbury, Slough, Don Pedro Martinez interrupted Emma’s thoughts more than once.
